Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the website getplainwallet.com ("Plain Wallet", "we", "us") and the digital products sold from it. Plain Wallet is operated by an independent developer based in Portugal. For any privacy-related question, contact us at hello@getplainwallet.com.

What data we collect

When you buy Plain Wallet

Purchases are processed by Gumroad, Inc., a third-party platform. Gumroad collects and stores the personal and payment information needed to process your purchase, including:

• Email address
• Billing country (for VAT compliance)
• Payment method details (handled and stored by Gumroad's payment processor — we never see or store your full card number)

We receive from Gumroad only the information needed to confirm and support your purchase: your email address, country, and order details. See Gumroad's Privacy Policy for full details on how Gumroad handles your data.

When you sign up for our free cheatsheet or newsletter

Email signups are managed by MailerLite, a third-party email service. When you submit the signup form on our website, MailerLite collects:

• Your email address
• The IP address and timestamp of your signup (used for GDPR compliance and anti-spam)
• Information about how you interact with our emails (open and click data)

When you visit our website

Our website is hosted on Netlify. Netlify automatically collects standard web server logs, including:

• Your IP address
• Browser type and version
• Pages visited
• Timestamps

These logs are used to keep the site running, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical issues. See Netlify's Privacy Policy for details.

The website also loads Google reCAPTCHA on the signup form to prevent automated spam submissions. reCAPTCHA may collect device and behavior data — see Google's Privacy Policy.

What we use your data for

• To deliver your purchase — sending you the download link and welcome guide.
• To send you the free cheatsheet when you sign up for it.
• To send occasional product updates and tips if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
• To answer your support questions when you email us at hello@getplainwallet.com.
• To comply with legal obligations, such as VAT records and accounting.

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

Legal basis (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/UK, our legal basis for processing your data is:

• Contract — to deliver products you purchase.
• Consent — for marketing emails (you opt in via the signup form; you can withdraw consent at any time).
• Legitimate interest — to operate the website, prevent fraud, and respond to support requests.
• Legal obligation — for VAT, accounting, and tax records.

How long we keep your data

• Email subscribers: Until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribed contacts are deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
• Purchase records: 10 years, as required by Portuguese tax law.
• Server logs: Up to 30 days (handled by Netlify).

Your rights

Under GDPR (if you're in the EU/UK) and similar laws elsewhere, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention requirements.
• Export your data in a portable format.

• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Cookies

The Plain Wallet website does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. The only cookies present are:

• Google reCAPTCHA cookies on the signup form (necessary to prevent spam).
• Strictly necessary cookies set by Netlify for site security.

If we ever add analytics or other cookies in the future, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.

International data transfers

Some of our service providers (Gumroad, Netlify, MailerLite, Google reCAPTCHA) are based outside the EU. These providers comply with applicable data protection frameworks (Standard Contractual Clauses, GDPR adequacy, or equivalent safeguards).

Children's privacy

Plain Wallet is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we'll notify subscribers by email.
